Aalto PS 2004 Magnum brings the characterful side of Ribera del Duero to the glass in a generous magnum format. Aalto's top wine is crafted from carefully selected Tempranillo grapes from particularly old vines. The long maturation period of the 2004 vintage has given it additional depth and a complex expression. Furthermore, wine develops particularly harmoniously in a magnum, which is why this format is ideal for a festive evening with several guests.

In the glass, the red wine appears powerful and concentrated. Dark berries, ripe plums, and fine spice notes combine with hints of tobacco, leather, and balsamic nuances. On the palate, the Aalto PS 2004 feels dense, yet balanced and carried by ripe tannins. The structure ensures length, while the fruit remains present in the finish. This aged Ribera del Duero is aimed at lovers of great Spanish red wines with depth and a distinctive character.

Serve the Aalto PS 2004 Magnum at a moderate temperature and give it some time in the glass before enjoying. It pairs as harmoniously with braised beef cheeks, leg of lamb, and hearty game dishes as it does with aged Manchego or a savory menu featuring mushrooms and dark sauce.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
