THE.EXPLOSION

The first step involves the basic shaping of the sculpture. For this, rigid foam boards are roughly shaped using a knife and saw and attached to the MDF base board.

Now comes the modeling. We use a special temperature-resistant modeling clay that, when dry, becomes as hard as stone and is insensitive to fluctuations in temperature or humidity.

Next comes the laborious step of giving the basic shape structure, which later enables the interesting interplay of light and shadow. Using brushes, chisels, etc., the not-yet-completely dry modeling clay is worked on until an appealing overall appearance emerges.

After drying, a base coat is applied as the basis for the subsequent finishing with metal foil. As with gilding, many small, wafer-thin metal sheets are applied with a special adhesive—up to several hundred, depending on the size. A sealant then protects against corrosion.

Now we install the LED lighting. We use high-quality COB RGBW light strips with high-quality controllers and power supplies. You can choose from millions of colors and color moods via remote control or app.

During the subsequent complete assembly, the entire sculpture now shines in all its glory for the first time. All parts are finally adjusted and prepared for painting.

The final step is painting the frame in your desired color. We paint the frames black or white as standard, but we can create any color you desire upon request.
