Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2016 – A 2016 Brunello di Montalcino from the renowned Tuscan winery Altesino. This wine stands out for its clear focus on origin and the typically structured Brunello characteristics often found in the 2016 vintage. The combination of regional authenticity and vintage depth is reflected in an impressive balance between power and elegance. In the glass, the wine presents a deep ruby red color. The tasting notes confirm a distinct fruit base, accompanied by fine spice notes and subtle hints of wood. On the palate, the tannin structure feels well integrated, the fruit retains tension, leading to a long, harmonious finish. The texture feels firm without losing grace, conveying a multifaceted, long-lasting presence. Food pairing recommendation: Serve with hearty dishes such as beef fillet, herb-crusted lamb, or game dishes, complemented by aged Pecorino or Parmigiano-Reggiano. Moderate aeration and a serving temperature of approximately 16–18°C will enhance the aroma development and finish.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
