Artadi El Carretil 2010 is a Tempranillo wine from the historic La Rioja region, produced by one of the most respected wineries in the area. The Artadi estate is known for its concentrated, distinguished, organically farmed wines. El Carretil is a single-vineyard wine from the vineyard of the same name, which combines deep, mineral complexity with a fine structure. The 2010 vintage in La Rioja was a particularly classic year, offering optimal ripening conditions for Tempranillo.

On the nose, it reveals notes of dark fruit, graphite, and fine herbs, supported by an elegant acid structure. The palate is characterized by a balanced tannin-fruit profile that displays concentration without heaviness. The mineral notes are reminiscent of the parcel's chalky soil composition and underscore its geographical origin.

This wine is already drinking well now and will provide optimal enjoyment until about 2028, with the development of its aromas gaining depth over time. The wine pairs ideally with roasted beef, braised lamb, or savory dishes featuring mushrooms.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
