Artadi El Carretil 2014 is a bottling from the renowned Artadi winery, representing the year 2014. The special quality of this wine lies in the winery's signature style, known for precise structure, clear fruit expression, and a delicate balance between freshness and substance. The vintage imbues the wine with maturity, elegance, and emphasis, without sacrificing its finesse. The bottle unites grapes with artfully applied wood notes, creating a quiet complexity that only becomes fully apparent in the glass. This combination of house style and vintage makes Artadi El Carretil 2014 a reliable benchmark for admirers of the winery's signature. This blend of concentration and finesse makes it versatile. It shows potential for mature enjoyment, yet remains approachable.

Tasting note: The nose offers dark fruits, plum, and a distinctive spice, accompanied by subtle oak notes. On the palate, the wine is round and concentrated, with silky tannins, a good acid structure, and a persistent, elegant length. The balance of fruit, earthiness, and complexity speaks to both good development potential and early enjoyment. Food pairing recommendation: Ideal with grilled beef steak, lamb dishes, or aged cheeses such as Manchego, Comté, or aged Gouda; serve it lightly decanted to support its opening and structure.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
