Bodega Numanthia Numanthia N 2001 brings the concentrated, characterful side of the Spanish Toro appellation to the glass. This red wine is made from Tinta de Toro, the regional variety of Tempranillo, and represents the oldest vines of Bodega Numanthia. The dry, continental climate with hot days and cool nights shapes the grapes. The 2001 vintage combines a powerful structure with the maturity of an aged top-tier wine.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby to garnet red. The tasting notes evoke dark blackberries, ripe plums, and black cherries. These are accompanied by spicy nuances of tobacco, leather, cocoa, and dried herbs. On the palate, the red wine feels concentrated and multifaceted, with a dense body, mature tannins, and a persistent, spicy fruitiness. Its long bottle aging lends it additional depth, making it a special choice for lovers of mature Spanish red wines.

Serve the Numanthia N 2001 with braised leg of lamb, beef fillet, or hearty game. Slowly cooked ox cheeks and aged hard cheeses also pair excellently with its dark fruit and spicy maturity. Open the bottle carefully and give the red wine some time in the glass so that its complex aromas can fully unfold.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
