Bodegas Mas Alta Els Pics 2018 comes from exposed south-facing slopes in Catalonia, where calcareous clay soils and large temperature fluctuations give the vineyards unique ripeness. The manual harvest protects the intact berries and preserves the complex aromatic diversity. The producer consistently cultivates the vineyards biodynamically and uses traditional cellar methods, which helped the 2018 vintage, characterized by a wet spring and a stable hot autumn, achieve a precise fruit balance. These climatic conditions lead to exceptional minerality in the glass.
In the tasting, an intense crimson appearance with aromatic depth of red berries, dried plums, and a hint of wild tarragon is revealed. The tannins are supple yet firm, while the juicy acid structure provides stability to the body and allows for a long-lasting finish. Due to this balanced architecture, the wine develops ideally over several years, with its peak drinking window expected between 2025 and 2029.
For food pairing, roasted lamb, venison roast, or hard aged cheese are ideal. The complex spice notes of the dish enhance the wine's Mediterranean herbal notes, while the firm acidity refreshes the palate and precisely highlights each bite. Unless otherwise stated, we ship our wines via UPS. Standard delivery time is approximately 2-3 business days within Germany and approximately 3-5 business days within the EU.
We pack the wines in UPS-licensed shipping boxes according to UPS packaging specifications.
Please note that in extreme temperatures that could affect the quality of the wine, we will only ship it upon your express request. Otherwise, we will store your purchased wines free of charge until safe shipment is possible.
Returns & Revocation
Of course, we accept returns within the scope of legal regulations. Provided the goods are in exactly the same condition as purchased, we will refund the full purchase price, excluding shipping costs, if returned within 14 days of receipt.
You must organize the return shipment yourself and also cover the return shipping costs and adequate shipping insurance.
