Bollinger R.D. Extra Brut 1979 is an outstanding champagne that embodies the tradition of the renowned Bollinger house. This vintage impresses with its unique complexity and depth, resulting from over 30 years of aging in the bottle. The R.D. (Récemment Dégorgé) is a tribute to the art of champagnemaking and offers connoisseurs a distinctive taste experience. Bollinger is known for its powerful and elegant champagnes, made with a high proportion of Pinot Noir grapes, which makes this R.D. special.

The tasting note reveals a bouquet of ripe apples, honey, and roasted nuts, underscored by delicate yeast notes. On the palate, the champagne reveals a lively freshness and a harmonious balance between fruit and mineral notes. The finish is long and accompanied by a fine bubble, perfectly rounding off the experience. This champagne will unfold its full potential in the coming years and is ideal for special occasions.

Enjoy this exquisite champagne with fine sushi, seafood or a classic coq au vin to perfectly complement the flavors.

    LIFE BEFORE...

    ORIGIN OF THE WINES

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.
    HIDDEN FEATURES

    UV-LIGHT TESTING

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.
    THE DETAILS MATTER

    LABELS & PRINTING

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.
    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

    THE CONTENT

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
