Ceretto Bricco Rocche Prapò 1997 brings the classic depth of an aged Barolo to the glass. This red wine comes from the renowned Ceretto estate in Piedmont and bears the provenance of the single-vineyard site Prapò in Serralunga d’Alba. The 1997 vintage lends it a special historical appeal, making it an exciting choice for lovers of mature Nebbiolo wines.

On the palate, it reveals a complex bouquet of dried red fruits, rose petals, spices, and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate, the Barolo combines the typical structure of the grape variety with mature tannins and a balanced, lingering style. Notes of cherry, forest floor, tobacco, and dried herbs characterize the finish. The wine is recommended for quiet moments of enjoyment and should be opened carefully and decanted if necessary so that its aromatic depth can unfold.

As a food companion, this aged Barolo pairs particularly well with braised beef, game dishes, and brasato. It also provides a stylish accent to robust pasta with truffles or aged hard cheeses.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
