Chateau Angelus Chateau Angelus 1994 impresses with intense fruit density and exceptional aging potential, directly resulting from the estate's hillside location. Its distinctive character comes from the high Cabernet Franc content and the consistent organic cultivation of all vineyard parcels. The 1994 vintage, thanks to warm late summer months, developed into a powerful, intense red wine with great aging potential.

Tasting reveals ripe stone and cherry fruits, flanked by spicy notes of clove, leather, and fine oak. The velvety tannin structure feels fully integrated, while precise acidity and mineral depth ensure long-lasting freshness. The optimal drinking window begins now and extends to around 2040, with consistent cool storage promoting further bouquet development.

For the perfect pairing, a hearty meat dish is recommended, whose fat content gently dissolves the astringency. A tender lamb chop with an herb crust or a slowly braised beef fillet best highlights the wine's characteristic fruit spectrum. Traditional hard cheeses provide an elegant finish.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
