With the Château Cheval Blanc 2010, you are bringing home a great Bordeaux for special evenings and long conversations. The Château is one of Saint-Émilion's iconic estates and stands for red wines with exceptional depth, freshness, and long development. The 2010 vintage combines the powerful concentration of a great Bordeaux vintage with the precise, elegant style of the house.

In the glass, it reveals a dense ruby to purple-red color. The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, and plums. Added to this are violets, graphite, cedarwood, and fine tobacco notes. On the palate, the red wine is concentrated yet balanced. Its ripe fruit is supported by lively acidity and fine-grained tannins. The long finish brings back spicy and mineral nuances. Connoisseurs particularly appreciate this Cheval Blanc for the interplay of power, finesse, and terroir character.

The Château Cheval Blanc 2010 reached its optimal drinking maturity around 2020 and can continue to develop until approximately 2050 with proper storage. Ideally, open it with some lead time and serve it with rack of lamb, beef fillet, or braised beef. Game dishes, truffles, and rich mushroom sauces also convincingly complement its spicy depth.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
