Château du Tertre Château du Tertre 2016 brings the elegant side of the Margaux appellation to the glass. Château du Tertre is one of the classified growths of the Médoc and is located in Arsac, on a distinctive gravel plateau. The 2016 vintage is considered particularly successful in Bordeaux. It combines ripe fruit with freshness and a clear structure. This red wine is therefore ideal for those who appreciate finesse and ageing potential.

The nose reveals blackcurrants, dark cherries and delicate floral notes, followed by hints of cedarwood, spices and subtle earthiness. On the palate, the wine is juicy, precise and balanced. Ripe, well-integrated tannins provide structure, while fresh acidity adds tension. The finish remains elegant, with the typical, slightly cool clarity of a fine Margaux. Feel free to open the bottle some time before serving and pour the wine at around 16 to 18 °C.

Château du Tertre 2016 should reach its optimal drinking window approximately between 2025 and 2040. With further ageing, the fruit aromas may meld more fully with spicy and earthy notes. This Bordeaux pairs especially well with pink-roasted beef fillet, entrecôte or rack of lamb. Braised beef cheeks and aged hard cheese also complement its fruit, spice and structure beautifully.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
