Château Duhart-Milon Rothschild 2000 Magnum brings the classic elegance of a mature Pauillac to life in a generous magnum format. The estate belongs to the renowned group of Pauillac’s Grands Crus Classés and has been owned by the Rothschild family, who also own Château Lafite Rothschild, since 1962. The 2000 vintage is considered one of Bordeaux’s most exceptional vintages, combining maturity with enduring structure.

The nose reveals dark berries, cassis and black cherries, accompanied by cedar, tobacco and subtle earthy nuances. On the palate, it is concentrated yet balanced. Mature tannins provide structure, while notes of dark fruit, spices and delicate smoke lead to a long finish. The magnum bottle ages more slowly than a standard bottle, providing the ideal conditions for a complex drinking experience at a special dinner.

Its optimal drinking window is approximately between 2012 and 2032. Open the bottle carefully and allow the red wine some time in the glass to fully develop its aromas. It pairs particularly well with beef fillet, ribeye steak or braised lamb shank. Game dishes, truffles, mushrooms and aged hard cheeses also harmoniously complement its spicy and earthy notes.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
