Château Fonroque 2010 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from one of the most successful Bordeaux vintages of the 2010s. Château Fonroque is one of the classic producers of the appellation and employs traditional winemaking, using a balanced proportion of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The 2010 vintage is characterized by optimal conditions during the ripening phase, which gives the wine concentrated aromas and structured tannins. This combination makes it a typical representative of Saint-Émilion elegance with good aging potential.

On the palate, this wine presents dark berry fruits, notes of plum, and fine accents of cedarwood. The texture is velvety with well-integrated tannins that give the wine structure without being obtrusive. The finish shows mineral notes and a pleasant persistence. The interplay between fruit, oak, and tannins appears balanced and mature, characteristic of well-made Saint-Émilion wines from this vintage.

This wine is excellent with classic meat dishes, particularly roast beef, lamb, or duck. Sophisticated mushroom dishes and aged cheese also find an ideal companion in this Bordeaux. Serve the wine slightly chilled at about 16–18 degrees Celsius.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
