Château Jean Faure Château Jean Faure 2015 impresses with the distinct terroir of its growing region, where gravelly substrates and clay layers ensure controlled water management, producing grapes with natural minerality and pronounced fruit intensity. The 2015 vintage is one of the reference years of its decade, as evidenced by the consistent physiological ripeness and tightly bound structure. On tasting, the wine presents a concentrated bouquet of dark fruits, cassis, and subtle spicy oak notes, flanked by a velvety tannin structure and lively acidity that stabilizes the mid-palate and ensures a clean finish.

Its early accessibility begins today, but full drinking maturity extends until around 2034, when the secondary aromatic notes fully develop. Ideal food pairings include intensely seasoned grilled dishes, especially beef steaks with herb crust, braised lamb shanks, or aromatic mushroom gratins. The distinctive tannin balance elegantly cuts through the fat notes of proteins and accentuates the roasted aromas of the preparation without dominating the character of the wine.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
