Château La Croix 2010 originates from the core area of Saint-Émilion and, under the guidance of Éts. Jean-Pierre & François Moueix, follows a philosophy of intensive grape selection and gentle fermentation to preserve the natural spice of the terroir. The 2010 vintage is considered one of the exceptional years in the right half of the Médoc, as warm drought during the ripening period allowed for extreme concentration and, at the same time, fresh acidity structures. The vines are rooted in complex gravel and clay soils, which optimally store moisture and thus promote even ripening with simultaneously limited yields. This geological peculiarity lends the label a striking finesse and a durable structure, reflecting the typical characteristics of classic Saint-Émilion red wines.
In tasting, the wine initially reveals intense aromas of dark berries and black pepper, which develop into truffle, cedarwood, and sandy stone as it aerates. The framework of polished tannins appears consistently integrated, yet gives the mouthfeel substance and ensures a long, clean finish with a distinct mineral note. The ideal drinking development begins towards the end of the current decade and safely accompanies the connoisseur until 2035, with the release of the aroma structures optimized by careful decanting. It pairs excellently with traditional meat dishes, roasted game, and is perfectly complemented by aged mountain cheese.

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.
HIDDEN FEATURES
UV-LIGHT TESTING
Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.
THE DETAILS MATTER
LABELS & PRINTING
We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.
COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
THE CONTENT
Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
