Chateau La Fleur Petrus Chateau La Fleur Petrus 2019

This red wine from the renowned Pomerol region combines traditional vineyards with modern precision on the right bank of the Gironde. The location directly adjacent to its internationally known neighbor is characterized by a particularly clay-rich subsoil, which gives its grapes a special mineral depth. The year 2019 was marked in the region by dry conditions and mild nights, leading to highly concentrated berries and a balanced acidity structure. The vines undergo strict canopy management, allowing the fruits to ripen evenly.

The nose is dominated by intense black cherry, dark plum, and elegant notes of forest violet, as well as fine spices. On the palate, the structure is firm and full-bodied with velvety tannins and a long mineral finish. Seventy percent of the wine is aged in new French oak barrels, stabilizing the structure for later maturation. Between 2028 and 2042, the product will unfold optimally when stored at ten to twelve degrees Celsius. It harmonizes particularly well with slow-braised beef roast, pan-fried duck, or semi-hard mountain cheese.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
