Château La Pointe Pomerol 2012

This red wine brings the elegant, velvety side of Pomerol to the glass and is particularly well-suited for special dinners. Château La Pointe is one of the well-known estates of the appellation on the right bank of the Gironde. The 2012 vintage is accessible and balanced, with clear fruit and the typical finesse that makes Pomerol so sought-after.

On the palate, aromas of ripe plums, dark berries, and cherries unfold. These are accompanied by delicate hints of violets, spices, and a subtly earthy undertone. On the palate, the wine feels soft and round. Its ripe fruit is supported by silky tannins and a lively acidity. The finish remains harmonious and pleasantly spicy. The 2012 is currently in a beautiful drinking phase and is expected to be enjoyed until around 2030. Open the bottle shortly before serving or give it some time in the glass.

The Pomerol 2012 pairs particularly well with roasted or braised beef dishes, duck breast, and lamb. It also demonstrates its strength when paired with veal cheeks, mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses. Serve it at a slightly cool room temperature so that its fine fruit and spice notes can fully develop.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
