Chateau Le Bon Pasteur Pomerol 2010 represents the quiet elegance of the Right Bank. The estate benefits from calcareous soils, clay, and gravel, which impart a fine minerality and structure to the wine. The 2010 vintage combines ripe fruit with silky tannins and a spiciness that blends harmoniously into the house style. Critics such as Falstaff, Parker, Jancis Robinson, Jeff Leve, and Wine Spectator regularly highlight the potential of this estate's long-aging Pomerol wines, and this wine confirms that assessment. On the nose, notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and violet unfold, accompanied by fine spice, subtle oak, and a chalky minerality. On the palate, it is juicy and complex: a silky texture, well-integrated tannins, fruit, and spice combine to create a long, elegant finish. The balance between freshness, depth, and spice makes this an impressive achievement of the 2010 vintage, even today. The optimal drinking window is expected to be between 2020 and 2032; with careful storage, this quality can continue to develop. Served at 16–18°C, the fruit unfolds its ripeness, the tannins remain present, and the minerality resonates. Food pairing recommendation: Grilled beef, game dishes, or aged cheeses perfectly complement this experience.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
