Château Margaux Château Margaux 1983 offers you a piece of Bordeaux history for special moments. Château Margaux is one of the famous Premier Crus of Médoc and thus belongs to the top of Bordeaux's classified estates. The 1983 vintage is now synonymous with a matured red wine with a classic Médoc character and great aromatic depth.

In the glass, it reveals a developed bouquet with notes of blackcurrants, dried violets, cedarwood, and tobacco. These are complemented by earthy nuances and a fine spice, as is prized in matured Bordeaux wines. On the palate, the Château Margaux 1983 is balanced and elegant. Its tannins are harmoniously integrated, while the fruit is accompanied by ripe, tertiary aromas. The uniqueness of this wine lies in the interplay of renowned terroir, classic Bordeaux style, and the expressive maturity of a historic vintage.

The optimal drinking window for this matured vintage is already in the past. Therefore, open the bottle carefully and serve it with sufficient time in the glass. The red wine particularly harmoniously accompanies beef fillet, venison saddle, or lamb with herb jus. It also reveals its characteristic character with classic duck breast and aged hard cheese.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
