Château Montrose 1995 embodies a distinctive vintage from Saint-Estèphe, characterized by concentrated fruit and impressive longevity. The winery was historically innovative, implementing strict selection as early as the nineteenth century to press only healthy grapes. The 1995 vintage benefited from a dry summer, allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen fully, giving the wine a classic structure and a remarkable balance between alcohol and acidity. Wine journalists regularly praise the precise craftsmanship and typical terroir expression, which ensures outstanding development for bottle aging for this Bordeaux.

In the glass, it displays an intense garnet red with aromatic nuances of ripe blackcurrant, wild berries, pencil lead, and subtle vanilla tones. The palate follows this complexity with an elegant yet firm tannic structure and a long, mineral finish that opens harmoniously with aeration. The profile is perfectly complemented by traditionally prepared game, long-roasted meats, or aged mountain cheese, with the wine's acidic structure excellently balancing rich dishes and sustainably completing the overall taste experience.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
