Chateau Pavie Chateau Pavie 1994 is a red wine from the eponymous winery, vintage 1994. The wine bears the signature of a house known for its uncompromising style and craftsmanship. The vintage's combination of ripeness and structure gives the wine a confident presence in the glass. As a product of the winery, this vintage exemplifies the continuity of the house and the clear provenance associated with a Château Pavie. Tasting note: In the glass, it shows a deep color, accompanied by a complex bouquet that combines dark fruit aromas with subtle woody notes. On the palate, the wine presents itself as structured, with well-integrated tannins and a lingering presence on the finish. The balance of fruit, wood, and tannins typically reflects the potential that a matured Bordeaux from the 1994 vintage can possess. These impressions develop over time in the glass and invite another sip. Food pairing recommendation: Accompaniment with hearty dishes such as roast beef, grilled lamb, or aged cheese emphasizes the wine's depth and allows it room to unfold. If you are planning a tasting with friends, this vintage offers a good conversation starter, as it combines complexity with clarity. The choice of dish should be rich but not too dominant, so that the wine can fully develop its nuances.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
