Château Tour Saint Christophe 2015 combines the terroir-driven character of Lalande-de-Pomerol with the clear structure of an outstanding Bordeaux vintage. The family winery consistently focuses on sustainable cultivation and strict manual grape selection, ensuring that only perfectly ripe specimens make it into the cuvée. The gravelly-sandy soils at the edge of the appellation promote specific heat development and ensure excellent drainage, which benefits the dominant Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The vintage benefited from dry summer days and ideal ripening conditions, leading to remarkable fruit intensity combined with balanced freshness.

In the tasting, a deep garnet red with intense aromas of black cherry, fig, and light forest floor notes is revealed. On the palate, the wine impresses with a velvety tannin structure, subtle vanilla traces from the oak, and a long, mineral-driven finish. The bottle is currently at its optimal drinking maturity and will remain so until around 2032. It pairs well with slow-cooked beef tongue, hearty game dishes, or aged Tomme de Savoie. This vintage specifically appeals to connoisseurs who appreciate authenticity, drinking pleasure, and targeted aging potential.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
