Château Troplong-Mondot 2019 brings the powerful, multifaceted side of Saint-Émilion to the glass. This red wine comes from one of the renowned classified estates on the right bank of Bordeaux. Its vineyards are located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, which lends freshness and a mineral touch to the rich Merlot foundation. The 2019 vintage is considered concentrated yet balanced.

On the nose, it reveals a deep, dark bouquet of ripe black berries, plum, and delicate floral notes. These are complemented by spicy nuances, subtle chocolate, and a cool mineral impression. On the palate, Château Troplong-Mondot is dense and powerful, but not heavy. Mature tannins provide structure, while the lively acidity creates tension. The long finish combines fruit, spice, and an elegant earthiness. Its structure makes it a select red wine for special evenings and for further development in the bottle.

The optimal drinking window is approximately between 2027 and 2045. Serve it slightly tempered and give it sufficient time in the glass or decanter. This Bordeaux pairs particularly well with beef fillet, entrecôte, and braised beef cheek. Lamb with herbs, game dishes, or strong hard cheese also harmoniously complement its fruit and spice.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
