Denis Dubourdieu Clos Floridene, Blanc 2019 is a Grand Cru from the Graves appellation, produced by Denis and Florence Dubourdieu in one of the most renowned regions of Bordeaux. This wine is created from a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, with the 2019 vintage representing a particularly balanced and elegant year for the estate. The Dubourdieu family is known for their passion for terroir expression and utilizes proven techniques to preserve the mineral qualities of their vines and maximize fruit intensity.

The nose reveals fresh citrus notes, accompanied by aromas of white flowers and a hint of grassiness that characterize the freshness of this vintage. The palate is taut and mineral with a distinct acidity structure that lends the wine vibrancy. The finish shows length and finesse with subtle nutty undertones. The estate has made a name for itself by producing complex, cellar-worthy white Graves that unfold their depth over the years. The 2019 version should be drunk by at least 2027, with the wine developing its full complexity over the next three to five years.

This white wine pairs excellently with grilled fish, seafood such as oysters and scallops, as well as sophisticated poultry dishes. Clos Floridene is also an excellent match for goat cheese or fine cheeses.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
