Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 1997 is an exceptional red wine that reflects the essence of the Rhône Valley. This winery, known for its artisanal tradition and sustainable practices, creates wines with particular depth and complexity. The 1997 vintage is considered a significant moment in the winery's history, characterized by ideal climatic conditions that give this wine remarkable structure and longevity.

The tasting note for this Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 1997 describes a powerful yet elegant wine with aromas of ripe black fruits, fine spice notes, and a hint of tobacco and leather. On the palate, it shows an optimal balance between fruit, tannins, and acidity, indicating long-term aging potential. This wine is ideal for connoisseurs who appreciate the maturity and complexity of a true terroir expression. The best drinking window is expected to be between 2022 and 2032, where the wine will fully unfold its harmony. For a perfect taste experience, we recommend pairing it with grilled red meat, game dishes, or aged cheeses, which ideally complement the wine's intense aromas.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
