Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2015 impressively brings the elegant, mineral side of Bordeaux to the glass. The white wine comes from Pessac-Léognan, a renowned appellation south of Bordeaux. Domaine de Chevalier is one of the esteemed estates there for dry white wine. The 2015 vintage was characterized by warm, sunny conditions and gives this wine ripe fruit, while at the same time providing enough freshness for long-term development. Its base consists of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, whose interplay combines aromatic clarity and supple fullness.

On the palate, it reveals a complex bouquet of citrus zest, white peach, flowers, and subtle smoky-toasty nuances. The wine feels concentrated and creamy on the palate, while remaining precise and taut thanks to its lively acidity. Mineral undertones lead into a long, lingering finish. The oak aging adds extra depth without overshadowing the freshness and origin. 2015 is already very approachable but still possesses excellent aging potential. Its optimal drinking window lies approximately between 2022 and 2035, and even beyond that with proper storage.

Serve the Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2015 well chilled, but not ice-cold. It pairs as convincingly with seared scallops, lobster, and fine fish as it does with poultry in a light sauce. It also shows its versatility with creamy risotto, asparagus, or goat cheese, adding an elegant accent with its mineral freshness.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
