Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2010 embodies the earthy elegance of Pessac-Léognan, built on decades of family tradition and a consistent philosophy of quality. The winery deliberately focuses on low yields, selective hand-picking, and traditional aging methods, allowing the lime-rich heavy soils to fully develop their specific mineral power. The selected 2010 vintage benefited from ideal climatic conditions with sufficient summer sun and favorable nocturnal cooling. This balance ensures a precise fruit structure and youthful acidity for the blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The artisanal care during gentle pressing and controlled fermentation temperature forms the basis for this remarkable balance. In the glass, the white wine first reveals intense aromas of ripe lemon, white peaches, and a hint of chestnut. After a short aeration, fine oily notes and a velvety mouthfeel emerge, supported by perceived barrel notes. Connoisseurs particularly praise its clear structure and long-term aging potential. The wine is currently in its optimal drinking phase and already shows a pleasant secondary complexity. It is recommended to pair with aged hard cheese, subtly spiced roast chicken, or marinated seafood, as its balanced structure perfectly complements both culinary partners.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
