Domaine Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur de Roy Très Vieilles Vignes 2006 brings the distinctive depth of a great Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin to the glass. The 2006 vintage now represents maturity and a pronounced aromatic development. The designation "Très Vieilles Vignes" refers to particularly old vines and underscores the distinctive character of this strictly limited Burgundy rarity. Domaine Dugat-Py is one of the renowned producers of the Côte de Nuits and is known for powerful, concentrated red wines with great aging potential.

On the palate, the red wine reveals itself as dense and multifaceted. Mature aromas of dark cherries, plums, and dried forest berries combine with spicy nuances, underbrush, and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, it is powerful, yet precise and structured. The aged tannins provide structure, while a lively acidity balances the wine. Its long finish makes it a special experience for lovers of aged Burgundy.

Serve this Gevrey-Chambertin slightly cool and give it sufficient time in the glass. It pairs excellently with braised beef, duck breast, and hearty poultry dishes. It also reveals its full elegance with venison loin, roasted porcini mushrooms, or an aged Comté.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
