Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Pechstein G. C. Riesling 2010 comes from one of the most renowned wineries in the Palatinate, which has been committed to strict organic farming for decades. The 2010 vintage was characterized by warm days and cool nights, which gave the vines a balanced acidity with full vibrancy. The result is a rarity with clear architecture, profound origin, and the necessary backbone for long-term development.

On the nose, ripe citrus notes, hawthorn, and a distinctive hint of damp slate dominate, complemented by delicate petrol tones. On the palate, the wine is salty, highly agile, and boasts a finely woven texture that wraps around a crisp core. The finish follows this precision cleanly and persistently. The optimal drinking maturity is from 2023 to 2032, after which it will become increasingly complex and rounded.

Recommended pairings include dishes that support its saline character without overpowering the subtle fruitiness. Grilled trout with tarragon cream, pan-fried monkfish, or semi-firm goat cheese harmonize ideally with its profile. Light vegetable dishes with a spicy note also find a suitable partner here.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
