Gaja Rossj-Bass Langhe 2024 is an homage to the Langhe terroir and, at the same time, a modern expression of the Nebbiolo language. The Gaja winery combines decades of tradition with precise vinification to create a cuvée that presents fruit, freshness, and spice in exceptional balance. The 2024 vintage shows clear fruit of red berries, rose notes, and a fine mineral note – the signature of the house, but with its own lightness, making the wine profile immediately approachable. Critics such as Falstaff, Winespectator, Jancis Robinson, Jeff Leve, and Parker praise the fine balance, clarity, and aging potential of this line.

Tasting Note: The Rossj-Bass appears ruby red in the glass, seducing with concentrated sour cherry and raspberry notes, underpinned by dried flowers, pepper, and a subtle graphite layer. On the palate, it is elegantly structured, with silky tannins, lively acidity, and mineral depth. The fruit returns, accompanied by fine spicy notes, and the long finish confirms the balance between freshness and substance.

Anticipated Drinking Window: The wine is young but approachable; optimal drinkability is expected between 2026 and 2034. Food Pairing: It ideally accompanies pan-fried veal medallions, lamb chops with rosemary, or a creamy mushroom risotto, as well as aged cheese from Piedmont.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
