Gantenbein Pinot Noir 2023 brings the distinctive signature of one of Switzerland’s most renowned Pinot Noir producers to the glass. The Daniel and Marta Gantenbein winery is located in the Bündner Herrschaft region of the canton of Graubünden and pays special attention to Pinot Noir. Since its founding in 1982, the estate has been known for precise, terroir-driven red wines with a distinctive character. Its small Swiss origin makes this vintage an exciting choice for anyone looking to discover Pinot Noir beyond the classic growing regions. (,)

The Gantenbein Pinot Noir 2023 is expected to show a fine structure and precision on the palate. Red berries, cool fruit and subtle spice combine with elegant acidity and a long, clear finish. Its balance makes it a red wine for special evenings when you want to consciously and leisurely enjoy a Pinot Noir. Serve it slightly chilled and give it time in the glass to reveal its depth.

At the table, this Swiss Pinot Noir pairs well with roasted duck breast, veal dishes or tender game. It also creates a harmonious interplay with mushroom dishes and creamy risotto, where the wine’s fine fruit rounds off the savory aromas.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
