Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 1985 is an outstanding example of the tradition and craftsmanship of the renowned Il Poggione winery. This vintage, produced in the famous Montalcino wine region in Tuscany, presents itself as a fine red wine that reflects the essence of the terroir. The grapes come from old vines growing in the sun-drenched hills, giving this Brunello its distinctive depth and complexity.

Upon tasting, a rich aroma of ripe cherries, plums, and a delicate spice unfolds, complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate, this Brunello impresses with its velvety texture and perfectly balanced acidity, leading to a long, harmonious finish. It is currently at its peak of optimal drinking maturity, allowing you to fully enjoy the flavor of this masterpiece. For the perfect taste experience, we recommend serving this fine red wine with a classic osso buco or a hearty wild boar roast to perfectly complement and intensify the flavors.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
