Jacquesson Cuvée No. 740 Dégorgement Tardif Extra Brut brings the distinctive, particularly mature side of Champagne to the glass. Its special feature is the late disgorgement: the Champagne was allowed to rest on the lees for longer, thereby gaining additional depth and character. As an Extra Brut, it remains precise and lightly dosed. Jacquesson stands for a sophisticated style in which origin, maturity, and structure take center stage.

On the palate, Cuvée No. 740 Dégorgement Tardif reveals itself as an expressive Champagne with a mature, multi-layered character. Notes of baked apple, warm pastry, and fine spices complement the distinctive impression conveyed by late-disgorged Jacquesson cuvées. The perlage is fine and creamy, while the dry Extra Brut style provides tension and a clear, long finish. This Champagne is aimed at connoisseurs who are looking for less freshness and straightforward fruit, but more depth and maturity in the glass.

Its optimal drinking maturity is now and in the coming years. Serve it well chilled, but not ice-cold, with oysters, scallops, or roasted fish. Poultry with a light sauce and aged hard cheese also complement its mature, spicy side particularly well.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
