Jérôme Bressy Domaine Gourt de Mautens 2017

This 2017 vintage red wine comes from the Rhône region and showcases the artisanal quality that Jérôme Bressy brings to Domaine Gourt de Mautens as a vigneron. The 2017 vintage was particularly successful in this region, producing concentrated, balanced wines with substance.

On the palate, this wine presents ripe red fruits, fine tannins, and a pleasant structure, making it suitable both as a food companion and for pure enjoyment. The wine's complexity is evident in the balance between fruit and mineral elements, typical of wines from this region of origin.

This wine is already at a good stage of maturity but will continue to develop until about 2027, thus offering an excellent window for immediate enjoyment. Serve it with robust dishes such as roast game, grilled lamb, or spicy stews to fully bring out its structure.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
