Kühling-Gillot Rothenberg Wurzelecht Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2012
This Riesling originates from the renowned Rothenberg vineyard in Rheinhessen and carries the Grosses Gewächs classification – the VDP quality seal for dry top-tier wines from Germany. The term "Wurzelecht" (own-rooted) indicates that the vines grow on their own roots rather than being grafted onto rootstocks. This imparts additional depth and minerality to the wine, which can be felt in almost every sip.
The 2012 vintage in Germany was characterized by good ripeness and sufficient acidity – ideal conditions for a Riesling with structure and aging potential. After more than a decade, this wine has reached its full complexity: the fruit has receded, giving way to notes of toasted stone, fine honeyed character, and delicate herbal spice. The acidity remains present and elegant, carrying the wine effortlessly.
Serve this wine with fine fish dishes that are not too creamy – lake trout, seared scallops, or creamy risottos with mineral-forward elements like mushrooms and truffle. The maturity of the wine also pairs well with lighter white meat dishes and aged cheeses.

Shipping information
Unless otherwise specified, we ship our wines via UPS. Standard delivery time is approximately 5–8 business days within Germany and approximately 5–10 business days within the EU.
For logistical reasons, we ship once a week, on Tuesdays.
We pack the wines in UPS-certified shipping cartons in accordance with UPS packaging guidelines.
Please note that in the event of extreme temperatures that could compromise wine quality, we will only ship the wines at your express request; otherwise, we will store your purchased wines free of charge until safe shipping is possible.
Returns & Revocation
Of course, we accept returns within the scope of legal regulations. Provided the goods are in exactly the same condition as purchased, we will refund the full purchase price, excluding shipping costs, if returned within 14 days of receipt.
You must organize the return shipment yourself and also cover the return shipping costs and adequate shipping insurance.
