Le Macchiole Scrio 2016 This exclusive red wine comes from one of Bolgheri's most prestigious estates, where winemakers combine tradition with innovation. The fact that the Cabernet Franc grape variety is grown in a virtually pure form on the rich terroir soil deserves special mention. The 2016 vintage benefited from a balanced growing season, which gave the wine a rare elegance with full body. Experts admired it for its intense aromatic components and its very stable aging potential, which makes it a masterpiece even after many years. The tasting confirms this with a deep ruby red and complex bouquets of heather and dark wild berries. On the palate, it is characterized by a velvety texture, with an impressive chalk minerality dominating. The acidity is fresh enough to guarantee a long shelf life and allows for an unforgettable taste experience for years to come. Although the wine is already drinkable, it often only reaches its full drinking potential after further storage of two to four years. Rich meat dishes such as wild boar or cheese platters made from aged hard cheeses are recommended. In combination with aged Parmesan, it fully unfolds its aromatic potential. This is an investment for connoisseurs who value authentic regional top-quality goods.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
