Montsant Espectacle 2016 combines the brand presentation of the Catalan region of origin with the established know-how of the producer, who works with old vines and calcareous soils. The 2016 vintage was characterized by sun-drenched growth phases and significant nocturnal temperature fluctuations, which ensures a balanced interplay of juiciness and freshness. The product utilizes transparent vinification steps to authentically reflect soil characteristics and grape variety.

In tasting, it shows a deep ruby with an open bouquet of ripe cherry, blueberry, as well as spicy herbs and subtle pod elements. On the palate, the blend convinces with a velvety surface, integrated tannins, and a guiding acidity that prolongs the fruit duration. The bottle is currently in its optimal drinking window and allows for further quiet aging.

This variant is primarily recommended with mildly spiced beef goulash or semi-firm goat cheese. Also, mushroom gratin or Mediterranean vegetable stews with bell peppers sustainably support the natural aromatics.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
