Ökonomorer Rebholz Kastanienbusch Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2010 This label represents the consistent philosophy of the Rebholz winery in the Palatinate, which focuses on entirely organic cultivation and site-adapted care. The Kastanienbusch terrain is characterized by deep red slate deposits, which give the wine a characteristic minerality and precise structure. The 2010 vintage offered ideal ripening conditions and ensured high grape health with balanced sugar development.

Sensory analysis shows a bright golden yellow with dominant aromas of green apples, quince, and a distinct wet stone note. On the palate, it impresses with elegant slenderness and firm core acidity, which slowly unfolds into a broad, saline finish.

The absolute taste peak is currently and lasts until approximately 2032. Due to this balanced acid architecture, the beverage harmonizes excellently with roasted cod, hazelnut quail, or mild semi-hard cheese, as the fresh component elegantly dissolves the delicacy of the dish.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
