The renowned winery Domínio de Pingus stands for top quality in Spain's Ribera del Duero. The Pingus Flor de Pingus 2013 redefines this level and comes exclusively from Tempranillo vines. Special features of this vintage are its subtle refinement and minerality, which many critics particularly praise. Experts rate the wine positively due to its pronounced structure and elegance.

An intense bouquet of dark forest fruits combines with subtle roasted aromas directly on the nose. On the palate, a soft body dominates with perfectly integrated tannins, guaranteeing a solid structure. The finish is long-lasting and shows clear fruit notes as well as delicate woody undertones. This perfect balance of power and elegance characterizes its unmistakable character.

Optimally, the wine should mature for another three to five years to reveal its full potential. While drinkable if opened sooner, more patience promises deeper harmony in the glass. Protein-rich meat dishes such as game or aged beef are considered ideal accompaniments. These ingredients dissolve the contained tannins and enhance the aroma to its full development.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
