Reichsrat von Buhl Pechstein Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2013 The Reichsrat von Buhl winery is one of the established top estates on the Moselle and, with this expression, relies on strict terroir orientation and exclusively natural cellar management. The famous Pechstein slope south of Zell consists predominantly of highly weathered argillaceous slate and has enormous gradients, which impart a characteristic saltiness and mineral depth to the wine. The 2013 vintage developed more slowly due to late budding and mild autumn weather, resulting in particularly high acidity and concentrated aromas. Industry experts highlight the dry style for its finely structured framework and remarkable aging potential. The nose reveals intense nuances of green apples, white peaches, and crisp rock dust; on the palate, the wine presents itself very directly with a clear fruit front and medium-thick traces of tannin. This precision ensures a taut appearance, which is nevertheless rounded off by slight oiliness and good mature tones. The long finish and exact harmony form the core of this classic German premium wine. It pairs excellently with roasted pike, herb-crusted chicken breast, or well-aged hard cheese selections. Its well-thought-out complexity underscores years of experience in viticulture and offers consistent drinking pleasure.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
