Reichsrat von Buhl Ungeheuer Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2009, as a dry Prädikatswein from the traditional Reichsrat von Buhl winery, represents the authentic style of the Pfalz region. The winery places particular emphasis on long-standing organic viticulture and the preservation of historic vineyards. The characteristic gravel and gneiss weathering soils of the site impart a typical minerality and high extractive density to the must. Especially in 2009, this cuvée demonstrates a remarkable harmony between aging potential and classic acidity structure.

In tasting, it reveals a radiant pale yellow hue with an expressive aromatic structure of ripe quince, green apples, and subtle blossom honey. On the palate, a full body effortlessly carries the precise acidity. A long, cool finish dominates the aftertaste. Ideally, it complements aged hard cheeses, pan-fried pork tenderloin, or hearty spaetzle dishes, which perfectly highlight its mineral note.

A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
