Robert Weil Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Spätlese 2002 offers you an aged Rheingau Riesling with provenance and character. The Kiedrich Gräfenberg is one of the Robert Weil estate’s most renowned vineyard sites. This Spätlese combines the natural freshness of Riesling with a fine, elegant sweetness. The 2002 vintage makes this bottle particularly interesting for lovers of aged Prädikat wines and classic Rheingau wine culture.

On the palate, the Riesling is complex and expressive. Aromas of ripe peach, apricot, and dried fruits meet subtle notes of honey and a delicate mineral spice. It is smooth and concentrated on the palate, yet carried by a lively acidity. The finish remains long, blending fruit, sweetness, and mineral tension. This aged Riesling is particularly well-suited for a quiet moment of enjoyment, where you can trace its evolution in the glass.

Serve it well-chilled, but not ice-cold. As a companion, it pairs well with roasted or slightly sweet-prepared duck, foie gras, and bold blue cheese. Spicy Asian dishes with a sweet-and-spicy note also beautifully complement its fruit and acidity.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
