Tement Zieregg 2012 brings the characteristic origin of the famous Zieregg vineyard in Southern Styria into the glass. This Sauvignon Blanc comes from one of Tement’s most renowned sites, located directly on the Slovenian border. The barren, limestone-rich soils give it a precise, mineral character. The 2012 vintage combines ripe fruit with remarkable freshness and possesses the structure for long-term development. This white wine is therefore aimed at those who appreciate terroir-driven, top-tier wines with depth and aging potential.

On the palate, the Zieregg 2012 is concentrated and multi-layered. Aromas of ripe yellow fruit, gooseberry, and citrus meet fine herbal spice, smoky nuances, and a cool mineral impression. It feels powerful, taut, and elegant all at once. Its vibrant acidity carries the wine through to a long, precise finish. Its maturity makes it accessible now, while its structure allows for further development. The optimal drinking window is approximately between 2018 and 2032, and even beyond with careful storage.

Serve this Sauvignon Blanc with pan-fried zander, char, or premium poultry. It also offers an exciting pairing with asparagus in a creamy sauce, sautéed mushrooms, or aged goat cheese. Its mineral tension complements fine dishes without overpowering their flavors.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
