Tenuta Greppo Biondi-Santi Rosso di Montalcino 2015 The production of this red wine by the Biondi-Santi family redefines tradition and quality. The Tenuta Greppo winery exclusively uses local grapes from the Montalcino appellation for this selection. The 2015 vintage was characterized by long growing seasons and ideal sunlight for ripe aromas. Compared to the well-known Brunello di Montalcino, this approach shows earlier drinkability without losing complexity. The color is deep ruby red with violet reflections at the rim.

The complex harmony between fruit and earth in this example is remarkable. Upon tasting, you will discover notes of sour cherry, cedarwood, and blackcurrant, accompanied by light smoke and tobacco. The palate is intense and well-structured with fruity acidity in the background. A long finish with spicy notes lingers on the palate. Suitable dishes include braised beef dishes very well, as well as pasta with meat-based sauces. The period of optimal drinkability begins now and extends for several years into the future. Those who want to enjoy the full potential should not serve the bottle too chilled so that all aromas can develop.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
