Weingut Velich Tiglat Chardonnay 2006 Magnum brings mature Austrian Chardonnay to the table in a generous magnum format. The vintage comes from the renowned Weingut Velich in the Seewinkel region of Burgenland, which is known for its characterful, long-lived white wines. Tiglat is one of the estate's most sophisticated Chardonnay bottlings and is aimed at lovers of developed fine wines.

In the glass, the 2006 vintage reveals a mature golden color and a multi-layered aroma. Notes of dried yellow fruits, roasted nuts, and subtle spice combine with creamy hints. On the palate, the Chardonnay is full and concentrated, while its mineral structure provides tension. The magnum format supports particularly gentle aging, making this mature vintage an impressive choice for a festive meal or a special wine evening.

Serve the Chardonnay slightly chilled, but not too cold, so that its complex aging aromas can unfold. It pairs excellently with roasted poultry, veal dishes, and aromatic mushroom plates. It also provides a fitting accompaniment to lobster, creamy sauces, or aged hard cheeses.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
