Veuve Clicquot Reserve Rosé 1985 is a special vintage champagne for moments when it is not about quick enjoyment, but the history in the glass that counts. The name combines the traditional house of Veuve Clicquot with a matured rosé vintage from 1985. As such, this rarity is aimed at lovers of classic champagnes and collectors who wish to intentionally open an extraordinary vintage.

In tasting, the focus is less on youthful freshness and more on the individual development of a matured rosé champagne. Serve it well chilled and give it time in the glass so that its characterful nature can unfold. The Veuve Clicquot Reserve Rosé 1985 is particularly well-suited to fine dishes with salmon, seared tuna, or poultry. It also makes for a stylish conclusion to a festive menu when paired with a mild, creamy soft cheese.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
