Von Winning Kirchenstück Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2018 unites the characteristic terroir knowledge of the famous Nackenheim site with the strictly selective practices of Dr. von Winning. The parcel rests on a specialized gravel-marl mixture that provides the vine with a typically lean nutrient supply and intense mineralization. The mild temperatures in 2018 ensured rapid ripening phases while preserving the natural acid structure, thus proving the classic dryness and high stability of the Grosses Gewächs predicate.
In the glass, ripe quinces, white currants, and subtle floral honey notes dominate, flanked by delicate oak smoke accents. The texture feels velvety, yet the mineral backbone always keeps the richness in check. The vibrant acidity leads to a long finish that hints at delicate stone fruits and cool limestone. This constructive structure guarantees optimal drinking maturity between 2024 and 2040, although younger bottles already reveal their full intensity.
Aromatic seafood and lightly seasoned poultry specialties are the most reliable pairings for this top wine. Pan-fried trout with herb-lemon sauce harmonizes beautifully with the mineral core. Shipping information
Unless otherwise specified, we ship our wines via UPS. Standard delivery time is approximately 5–8 business days within Germany and approximately 5–10 business days within the EU.
For logistical reasons, we ship once a week, on Tuesdays.
We pack the wines in UPS-certified shipping cartons in accordance with UPS packaging guidelines.
Please note that in the event of extreme temperatures that could compromise wine quality, we will only ship the wines at your express request; otherwise, we will store your purchased wines free of charge until safe shipping is possible.
Returns & Revocation
Of course, we accept returns within the scope of legal regulations. Provided the goods are in exactly the same condition as purchased, we will refund the full purchase price, excluding shipping costs, if returned within 14 days of receipt.
You must organize the return shipment yourself and also cover the return shipping costs and adequate shipping insurance.
