Von Winning Ozyetra Riesling 2019 brings the characteristic tension of great Palatinate Rieslings to the glass. The Von Winning winery in Deidesheim is synonymous with precise, dry Rieslings defined by distinctive vineyard character and a sophisticated, oak-influenced style. The 2019 vintage combines ripe fruit with fresh acidity, lending this Riesling a remarkable depth even now.

On the nose, it reveals yellow fruits, citrus zest, and fine herbs, accompanied by a subtle smoky and mineral note. On the palate, the Ozyetra feels both powerful and clear. Aromas of ripe apple, peach, and lime meet taut acidity, spicy nuances, and a long, dry finish. Its complexity makes it a Riesling for special evenings and attentive tasting. Its optimal drinking window ranges from approximately 2024 to 2032, with its evolution in the glass showing particularly beautifully with a little aeration. Serve well-chilled, but not too cold, with pan-fried zander, rack of veal, or aromatic Asian cuisine featuring ginger and lemongrass.

LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
