Emrich Schönleber Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen Grosses Gewächs 2016 is a top-quality wine from Emrich-Schönleber, characterized by its clear structure and precise minerality. The 2016 vintage offers a fine balance between ripeness and freshness, reflecting the Frühlingsplätzchen vineyard in Monzingen in a dry, long-lived wine. The special feature of this Grosses Gewächs lies in its focused, elegant expression and the typicality of the site, which makes the terroir characteristics visible.

Tasting Notes: The nose opens with mineral hints, aromas of citrus fruits, ripe apple notes and floral nuances. On the palate, the wine presents a taut, dry structure, lively acidity, and a fine salty minerality that continues into the long, clear finish. With age, the fruit components gain depth while the freshness is retained, which underlines the complexity of this Grosses Gewächs.

The optimal drinking maturity of this Grosses Gewächs is expected to develop over the next 8 to 12 years, with balance and complexity deepening further over time. Food pairing recommendation: Excellent with grilled seafood, sushi, asparagus dishes, or light Mediterranean cuisine, where the wine's citrus notes harmonize.

    LIFE BEFORE...

Where possible, and especially with larger wine cellar purchases, the wine cellars of the previous owners tell us a lot about the storage conditions of the wines. A professionally managed wine cellar usually guarantees perfect storage conditions for the wines. We acquire our wines exclusively from reputable, mostly private wine collectors.

    HIDDEN FEATURES

Many high-quality wines today feature various security features for authentication, such as markings that only become visible under UV light. We check and compare all purchased wines for these features using an extensive database, and if there is even the slightest doubt, we reject the wine.

    THE DETAILS MATTER

We examine wine labels under a microscope to determine their quality, and we check the printed image for any peculiarities that are typical for a particular winery, wine, or vintage. We draw on a large image database to identify any anomalies.

    COLOR MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Last but not least, we also examine the wine's composition. Color, turbidity, sediment, and the bubbles in a champagne reveal a lot about the wine's or champagne's condition and potential drinking pleasure.
